About this project:
Documentary film by: Christoph Wieland and Yalda Yazdani
Algorhythms of Beauty is an ongoing research project focusing on rhythms and rituals of arts, music, architecture, crafts and everyday lives in Iran.
This research uncovers rather the material object than the mental and conceptual layouts of cultural artifacts, such as a song, a dance, a designed object or an architectural space.
While an algorithm is understood as a set of programmed rules, this project thinks the term ALGORHYTHM as a core of human activity, which is expressed through rituals producing meaning and identity.
The projects has been initiated by Yalda Yazdani (musicethnologist and curator), and Christoph Wieland (art historian and curator).
